Drama recommendation: K- dramas to watch If you loved My Mister/ My Ajusshi

For all the insane Korean drama fans who know the insanity of being one, can relate to the fact that there are some of the essential ingredients that make a Korean drama typically valid, That is most of them, despite having different storylines, have many things in common, for a drama to qualify as being a typically Korean drama, some of the main ingredients are,
The male protagonist is mostly shown as the heir of the big company or a chaebol and female protagonist is mostly shown is a poor or middle class, with a messy life
But somehow they meet, love, and live happily ever after
One more thing that is the bases of most Korean dramas is that usually, the protagonist has some childhood connection or share the same trauma.
But whatever the content is, we love k dramas because they take us away from reality, most of the time. A typical k drama is a fantasy, far from reality...

But these days, changes are on the horses, many dramas break the stereotypes and are still loved. In the same line a few days ago, I came across some very beautiful and quirky dramas. And my favorite one is My Mister

My Ajusshi/ My mister is the drama that breaks all stereotypes of being a typical blend of success, it cannot be announced as a love story, more than it is a healing story of 2 persons leading a completely different life, the story is so powerful and so real that It brings out all your questions related to life, it is beautifully portrayed. For the days after watching my Ajjushi I didn’t seem to like any other show, it was so real and connecting that it increased my standards of choosing the next drama, I know many of  you would be feeling the same, so to save you from the panic of choosing the next drama I have a recommendation list of some of them out of the league k- dramas that have a slice of life in them and can save you from a bad day. If you have liked and adored my Ajusshi/ my mister, you will surely like them.

  1.  Prison playbook
With his major league baseball debut right around the corner, a star pitcher lands in prison. It is the story that portrays the real struggle and reality of crimes and jails in Korea, with a lot of warmth. The show is full of laughter with many bitter truths. You would find some familiar faces if you have watched my mister.
This show is a huge hit in Korea. This show will make you weep and laugh both, the highlight of this show is the strong friendship between the lead protagonists. Believe me, you won't regret watching it

2. One spring day
When pharmacist and single father Yu Ji-ho (Jung has in) has a chance meeting with librarian Lee Jeong-in, they start seeing love and relationships in a brand new light.
This show is not a fantasy drama, it does not have a slapstick comedy, but you will surely find yourself joining a world that is far more mature and responsible. Jung Hae In is like a cherry on the cake and makes your heart flutter with every dialogue, a mature romance is portrayed by the lead couple and the writer did a perfect job in highlighting the problem faced by single parents in the society

3. Be melodramatic
This Show is so beautifully portrayed, and have a quirky, imperfect feel, and a Struck hard humor. You will get into a nostalgia after watching it. The characters ( 3 women in their 30s) are imperfect and mature, they all have a different story, which leads its way throughout the drama. But the highlight is the script, the clever script written by the writer. It is very insightful, as Show takes us on a journey with our characters, and at the same time, gives us a multi-lensed look at this unpredictable, tiring, messy yet hopeful thing that we call Life.
A refreshing, underrated gem of a show that’s funny and unorthodox yet real and relatable, that often hits you with the feels when you least expect it. You will find yourself missing this show for a long time...

4. A poem a day
The story follows a group of physical therapists, nurses, radiological technologists, and trainees.
Ye Jae-Wook works as a physical therapist and also teaches in the same field. He starts his work as a team leader at a hospital. Woo Bo-Young has been working as a physical therapist but she wanted to become a poet. Due to her poor family background, she studied to become a physical therapist. The highlight of this drama is, every episode have gives you a beautiful set of poetry, to all the poetry lovers, this drama is a treat.

5. Because this is my first life

Because It’s The First Time - a young man who has some social anxiety decides to pass his roommate off as his wife to his parents. This sounds like the plot for a romcom, but it is done very realistically and almost ends being an anti-romcom.

The script, songs & scenes of this drama are too soothing & amazing. The way of story-telling makes the drama very relatable. This drama highlights the different points of view on careers, relationships, and marriage. This also focuses on the sufferings of young people in their different levels of maturation in their busy city life. The drama shows us the ordinary life of ordinary people with an extraordinary charm. The lead pair’s chemistry is fabulous.

Hope you would enjoy these recommendations!!!!!
